Madewell
Madewell was chosen because it is a popular brand that college students identify with. We utilized the pin up board to create a stylized outfit targeting college aged females. Our target customer loves to wear the essential basics. Keeping it simple yet tasteful. We included clothing such as denim, sweaters, t-shirts, pointed toe flats, and leather bags. Among the garments, we added jewelry to complete the look and add SKU’s. We included multple different tops and bottoms that our consumer can easily mix and match, allowing for more outfit combinations. To solidify our theme, we included elements of simple, feminine, nature such as vines and flowers. We chose these props because our season was targeted towards early fall. Further showing our target market, we thought adding a magazine and clip board would stress the age of our target market.
Ralph Lauren
Amplifying the upper class aesthetic, we focused on the appeal of classic Ralph Lauren prep. We were aiming for a very classic, prepster, fall mood. To create this, we included plaid print designs that reflect British gentry, among other garments and accessories. The garments chosen helped develop a sense of rich cultured upper class and good taste, while still reflecting back on the iconic styles of the 90s. To help drive this theme home, we added old books and trinkets onto the board. The key item we chose for this display was a black Ralph Lauren turtleneck. This sets the classic tone as turtlenecks are an essential piece of every wardrobe. We surrounded this piece with complimenting garments. To tie everything together, we decided that our DIY graphic would be an antique book. We found an old book filled with sheet music and knew it would fit our aesthetic. We burned the edges of the book, and on the inside painted the Ralph Lauren logo. This was the final piece that completed our puzzle.
